Sporting Lagos will try to extend their dominance at home today, as they host Kwara United at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in a Nigeria Premier Football League encounter.
Sporting are on a hot streak, having won four consecutive home games against Rivers United, Bendel Insurance, Akwa United, and Remo Stars. They’ll be looking to add Kwara United, nicknamed the “Afonja Warriors,” to their list of home conquests.

Currently sitting at 13th in the Nigerian Premier Football League, a win would propel Sporting Lagos to at least 10th place.
Meanwhile, Kwara United aims for a season sweep against Sporting. The Afonja Warriors secured a 2-1 victory in the first leg and hope to become the first team to steal away maximum points from Sporting this season.
Beyond a win, Kwara United desperately needs a turnaround in the NPFL. The Ilorin-based team struggles on the road, currently winless away from home and sitting just three points behind Sporting at 15th in the standings.
