Scottish side Rangers are in talks to buy Akpe Victory from Hungarian outfit Zalaegerszegi according to transfer expert Ben Jacobs.
The 19-year-old Nigerian center back is attracting interest from several teams ahead of the summer transfer window.
Clubs in Germany, Spain and France are reportedly tracking the defender, while Portuguese giants Benfica are believed to have already made an approach, as they look to lead the race.
However, Rangers are understood to be close to making an offer, with the fee expected to be around €5m. The Scottish side will be keen to accelerate the deal, before other teams can make a move.
Akpe Victory has made 15 appearances for Zalaegerszegi this season, scoring once and providing one assist.

Before moving to Hungary, he spent time at Hyraj academy in Lagos and later played in Lithuania with FK Banga Gargždai. His performances there helped earn him a move to the Hungarian top flight, where he has continued his development.
If a deal is completed, Akpe Victory will join Nigerian counterpart Emmanuel Fernandez in Rangers. The 24-year-old has been excellent since moving to Scotland, recently winning the club’s player of the year award.
His performances caught the attention of the NFF, who convinced him to represent the Super Eagles. During the March International window, Fernandez made his debut for Nigeria and scored in a 2-2 draw with Jordan.
Calvin Bassey is another Super Eagles defender with Rangers connection. The 26-year-old played 65 games for the club before moving to Ajax in 2022.
