The MTN CHAMPS Season 4 grand final will feature a record 3,220 athletes from 375 schools and teams competing in Ibadan from April 14 to 17.
A total of 8,243 event entries have been recorded for the competition, underlining the scale and growing profile of Nigeria’s leading secondary school athletics championship.
Ibadan will host the MTN CHAMPS for the third time, having staged the event in Seasons 1 and 2, further strengthening its status as a major centre for grassroots athletics development in Nigeria.
Two venues for the grand final
The competition will take place simultaneously at the Lekan Salami Stadium and the University of Ibadan Sports Complex.

All four age categories will compete at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Days 1 and 4. On Days 2 and 3, Cadet and Youth athletes will compete at the University of Ibadan Sports Complex, while Junior and Senior athletes continue at the Lekan Salami Stadium. The Cadet and Youth athletes will return to the Lekan Salami Stadium for the grand finale on Day 4.
MVPs to headline final showdown
Attention will also be on the 20 Most Valuable Performers selected from the earlier legs in Calabar and Jos.
The standout athletes will compete against some of the country’s best emerging talents in what promises to be a strong finish to the season.
Athlete registration and bib collection
Registered schools and athletes must complete bib collection as the final confirmation of entry.
Bib collection will take place on Sunday, April 12, and Monday, April 13, at the Lekan Salami Stadium from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. Athletes or teams that fail to complete bib collection will be removed from the event start lists.
All athletes under 21 must present a signed one-page parental consent form during bib collection. Representatives of each school or team must ensure that all Cadet, Youth and Junior athletes are available for screening and submission of the signed forms.
