Okan Buruk has revealed that the return of star striker Victor Osimhen to training has given Galatasaray a major boost ahead of their Turkish Super Lig clash against Gençlerbirliği.

The Nigerian forward resumed training on Tuesday for the first time in weeks after recovering from a forearm fracture sustained during their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second-leg defeat to Liverpool FC.

Galatasaray have struggled in his absence, failing to win their last three league matches, recording two losses and a draw. That dip in form has seen their lead at the top of the table cut to just two points by rivals Fenerbahçe.

Speaking after training, Buruk confirmed that Osimhen completed the session without any discomfort and highlighted the positive impact of his return on the squad.

“Osimhen trained with the team for a large part yesterday. He’s physically good and completed the session comfortably,” Buruk said.

“Every player’s return lifts the team, and Osimhen is one of the locomotives. His presence in training has had a positive effect on everyone.”

Despite struggling with injuries this season, Osimhen has still delivered impressive numbers, scoring 19 goals and providing seven assists in 29 appearances across all competitions.
