Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is eager to make his mark in the UEFA Europa League.
After providing two assists in his first two appearances for Galatasaray, the in-form forward is now aiming to score his first goal in the competition for his Turkish club when they take on Tottenham Hotspur later today.
The forward missed Galatasaray’s 2-2 draw with FK RFS and their 4-3 win over Elfsborg due to injury. Now recovered, he’s ready to face his toughest test yet against the Premier League side.
The Turkish giants will welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the Rams Park, and Osimhen will be looking to make a significant impact against the Premier League side.
While Osimhen’s inclusion in the starting lineup is uncertain, manager Okan Buruk has hinted at potential changes to the team’s formation and tactics.
“We used different systems in the last two matches, but our main game was always based on a four-man defense,” Buruk said.
“Our first priority was a four-man defense. We change this from time to time depending on the player and opponent structure.”
The Turkish tactician added, “Osimhen went to training yesterday. We will make a decision about him and our other players. We will clarify this in the last training. Our main idea this season was a four-man defense. Galatasaray tried to play its own game against every team in every match. We will try to play our own game again.”
Osimhen has scored four goals and provided two assists in five leagues games since his shock move to Galatasaray from Italian Serie A side Napoli last summer.
