Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen, has reinstated his desire to remain with Italian side Napoli despite interest from several English Premier League clubs as well as German champions, Bayern Munich.
Osimhen who scored 18 goals while providing six assists in 32 games across all competitions in the 2021/22 season leading the side to a UEFA Champions League qualifying spot has been one of the most sought after strikers in Europe over the summer with clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Chelsea, Tottenham and a host of other European teams vying for his signature.
The 23-year-old has been valued at €100 million by the Italian to scare away suitors. The Nigeria international joined the Naples side from Ligue 1 club Lille for an African record €81m in the summer of 2020 after scoring 18 goals in 38 games in his only season in the French League.
However, the striker who will be the focal man for the club in the 2022/23 season after the departure of influential captain Lorenzo Insigne to Toronto FC and defensive stalwart Kalidou Koulibaly to Chelsea says he is happy at the club despite interests from other clubs.
“I’m very happy at Napoli, I feel really good here. This city makes me happy,” Osimhen told Corriere dello Sport.
The striker who was voted the league’s best U-23 player last season will be hoping to increase his goals output this season.
