Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has added another milestone to his stellar spell in Turkey after being crowned Sportsman of the Year at the 2025 GQ Türkiye Men of the Year Awards, Bold Sports reports.

The Nigerian international received the award on Wednesday night, a recognition of the explosive impact he has made since joining the Turkish giants. Osimhen arrived at Galatasaray on loan at the start of the 2024–25 campaign and immediately became a driving force in the club’s domestic dominance.

He scored 37 goals and provided seven assists across all competitions last season, firing Galatasaray to both the Super Lig and Turkish Cup titles. His performances were so decisive that the club moved determinedly to make his stay permanent in a record-breaking transfer.

Osimhen has continued where he left off. This season, he has already netted 11 goals in 14 matches, helping Galatasaray maintain their position at the top of the Super Lig table as they push for another title.

Reacting to the award, Osimhen expressed gratitude to the organisers, the club, and the supporters.

“I want to say a big thank you to GQ. Can’t forget my Galatasaray family. This means so much to me and my family. I appreciate everyone who has supported me up to this hour,” he said. “I will continue to do my best for my family, for Galatasaray, for the fans all over the world.”
