Galatasaray are sweating over the fitness of star striker Victor Osimhen ahead of Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League clash against Belgian champions Royale Union Saint-Gilloise at RAMS Park, as well as their crucial Turkish Süper Lig showdown with arch-rivals Fenerbahçe.
The Turkish giants are aiming for a fourth consecutive Champions League victory as they push closer to securing an automatic Round of 16 spot, and the presence of their influential forward will be vital in achieving that goal.
Osimhen returned from international duty with a hamstring strain sustained during Nigeria’s 4-3 penalty shootout defeat to DR Congo in the Africa World Cup Qualifying Playoff Tournament, forcing him off in the first half.

The Nigeria international is currently undergoing physical rehabilitation and has yet to take part in full team training ahead of the Union Saint-Gilloise fixture which he will likely miss, however, he is expected to return to training before the derby against Fenerbahçe on December 1.
The 26-year-old has been a driving force in Galatasaray’s Champions League campaign, scoring six of the team’s eight goals in the competition. He featured in all three matches of their winning run but was absent during the 5–1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Galatasaray struggled over the weekend but managed a hard-fought 3–2 win over 15th-placed Gençlerbirliği, a result that further highlights Osimhen’s importance to the team and their heavy reliance on his goal-scoring presence.
According to football statistics platform Transfermarkt, Osimhen is expected to be available from Wednesday and should be fit to face Fenerbahçe at the weekend.
