Nigerian fans in Morocco have raised concerns over the shortage of tickets for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-final match between the Super Eagles and the host nation, Morocco.
Serah Ibrahim, a human rights and economic analyst, took to her X account on Tuesday to highlight the issue. She explained that Nigerian fans have been going from place to place in search of tickets for the highly anticipated game.

“This is the same issue they faced in Ivory Coast in 2024 when the Super Eagles lost 2-1 to the Elephants in the final despite scoring first through the now-retired captain, William Troost-Ekong,” Ibrahim added.
The problem mirrors challenges faced by Nigerian supporters during the 2023 AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire, where similar ticket access issues fueled criticisms of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and its ticketing policies, which many believe unfairly favor host nations.
The frustration among Nigerian fans continues to grow as the tournament progresses, with many questioning CAF’s management of ticket distribution.
