Danish Superliga side FC Midtjylland have confirmed a long-term contract extension for Swedish-Nigerian winger Emmanuel Alase, securing the youngster’s future at the club until 2030, Bold Sports reports.

‎The deal comes less than a year after the attacking prospect joined Midtjylland’s academy from Swedish club IFK Norrköping, highlighting the Danish club’s confidence in his long-term potential.

‎Alase has been part of the club’s youth setup since the summer and has already featured regularly for the U19 team, making nine appearances in the U19 League and scoring once during that period.

‎Speaking after signing the new agreement, the 18-year-old admitted that his first months in Denmark were not easy, but says he now feels settled and ready to continue his development.

“I feel really good, and it wasn’t difficult to sign this extension. The first time here at the club was a bit tough.

“I missed my family and I’ve also been injured a lot – but things are going well now, and I’m sure my time will come,” Alase said.

‎The winger also outlined his short-term ambitions at the club, stressing that his immediate target is to earn more minutes and fight for a regular starting place in the U19 side.

‎Midtjylland’s football director Jacob Larsen explained that the extension provides stability for both the club and the player as they continue to develop his abilities within the academy system.

‎Larsen noted that the club believes Alase possesses qualities worth nurturing further, particularly in his one-on-one ability and use of his left foot, as they aim to turn his potential into consistent performances.

The club hierarchy expect the youngster to first establish himself as a key figure in the U19 team before progressing further within Midtjylland’s structure.

‎Alase, who has Nigerian roots but is yet to represent Sweden at any international level, has also shown interest in Nigerian football, following the Super Eagles and striker Victor Osimhen on social media.

‎Midtjylland will now hope the talented winger continues to grow within their development system after committing his long-term future to the Danish club.
