Nigerian-eligible midfielder Oluchi Basil signs first professional contract with PSG until 2029

Nigerian midfielder Oluchi Basil has signed her first professional contract with Paris Saint-Germain, committing her future to the French club until 2029, Boldsports report.

The 16-year-old becomes the latest academy player to earn a senior deal after impressing since joining PSG in the summer of 2025.

‎The Lagos-born midfielder arrived from Nantes Métropole Futsal and FC Nantes before continuing her development in the Paris Saint-Germain Academy. Her progress has convinced the French champions to hand her a long-term contract as they continue investing in emerging talent.

‎Basil’s new contract follows an impressive campaign with the club’s youth setup. She scored in the 2026 Nike U18 Women’s Cup final against Le Havre AC, helping Paris Saint-Germain lift the trophy after a penalty shootout. That display highlighted her attacking quality and underlined why the club sees her as part of its long-term plans.
