Nigerian midfielder Oluchi Basil has signed her first professional contract with Paris Saint-Germain, committing her future to the French club until 2029, Boldsports report.
The 16-year-old becomes the latest academy player to earn a senior deal after impressing since joining PSG in the summer of 2025.
The Lagos-born midfielder arrived from Nantes Métropole Futsal and FC Nantes before continuing her development in the Paris Saint-Germain Academy. Her progress has convinced the French champions to hand her a long-term contract as they continue investing in emerging talent.
Basil’s new contract follows an impressive campaign with the club’s youth setup. She scored in the 2026 Nike U18 Women’s Cup final against Le Havre AC, helping Paris Saint-Germain lift the trophy after a penalty shootout. That display highlighted her attacking quality and underlined why the club sees her as part of its long-term plans.
The versatile midfielder has earned praise for her technical ability, composure on the ball, work rate and attacking instincts. Those qualities have accelerated her rise through the academy and earned her a place among the club’s professional ranks.
