The 2025 Nigeria Basketball Premier League (NBPL) Final Eight gets underway today (Monday) in Port Harcourt, with some mouthwatering fixtures lined up to set the tone for what promises to be an electrifying week of top-level basketball action.
The tournament, which runs from October 26 to November 3, 2025, will take place at the Basketball Stadium in Niger Street, Port Harcourt, as Rivers State plays host to the final phase of the league for the third consecutive year.
The competition will adopt a round-robin format, meaning all eight qualified teams will face each other once. At the end of that phase, the top four teams will advance to the highly anticipated Final Four, where the eventual champion will be crowned.
Day one promises fireworks, with Lagos Legends squaring off against Nigeria Customs in the opening fixture at 12:00 p.m., followed by Kano Pillars taking on Gboko City Chiefs at 2:00 p.m.

The third game of the day will see Nile University battle Kwara Falcons at 4:00 p.m., before the marquee encounter between defending champions Rivers Hoopers and Hoops & Read closes the day’s action.
