Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been nominated for the October British Gas Women’s Super League (WSL) Save of the Month following her outstanding stop in Brighton’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur, Bold Sports reports.

The 24-year-old has been in brilliant form since joining Brighton & Hove Albion, and despite her team’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Spurs, her heroics in goal caught the eye of fans and analysts alike.

Nnadozie’s nominated save came from a powerful free-kick by Finnish midfielder Eveliina Summanen, whose strike pierced through the Brighton wall before being spectacularly denied by the Nigerian shot-stopper with a full-stretch, athletic save.

She faces stiff competition for the monthly accolade from Manchester United’s Phallon Tullis-Joyce, Arsenal’s Daphne van Domselaar, Everton’s Emily Ramsey, and Leicester City’s Janina Leitzig.

The nomination adds to what has been an exceptional year for Nnadozie. Earlier in 2025, she was named Best Goalkeeper at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and earned the Player of the Match award on her Brighton debut.

She also made history as the first Nigerian and African goalkeeper to be nominated for the inaugural Women’s Yachine Trophy, awarded to the world’s best female goalkeeper, a prize eventually claimed by Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton.

In addition, the Nigerian international received nominations for the PFA WSL Fans’ Player of the Month (September) and the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year, an award she is tipped to win for a record third consecutive year.

For the save of the month, supporters can cast their votes on the official Barclays Women Super League website.
