Spanish women’s Primera División side Levante UD Femenino have confirmed the signing of Super Falcons midfielder Ngozi Okobi on loan for the rest of the season from Swedish club Eskilstuna United DFF.
The capture of the 29-year-old Nigerian veteran midfielder was announced on the club’s social media accounts on Wednesday with the caption, “The new international midfielder for Nigeria who already wears red.”
Okobi who joined the Swedish club in 2018 played a total of 107 games scoring 11 goals for the side who finished as runners-up in the 2020/21 Svenska Cupen Women tournament.
She joins Levante who play in the Primera División, the top tier of Spanish women’s football, They are currently second on the league table after 17 games, 10 points behind leaders Barcelona who are still unbeaten this season.
Okobi becomes the second Falcons player at the club alongside Rita Chikwelu.
