A winner-takes-all showdown awaits on Sunday as defending champions Rivers Hoopers and title contenders Lagos Legends battle for the NBBF Nigeria Premier Basketball League Final Four crown, and the lone ticket to the 2025 Basketball Africa League (BAL).

Both teams head into the decisive clash with two wins from their opening games, setting up a straight shootout in Port Harcourt to determine the new national champions.

Lagos Legends opened their campaign with a commanding 93–75 win over Nigeria Customs before defeating Gboko City Chiefs 62–49. Rivers Hoopers, on the other hand, edged Gboko City 66–61 on Day One and consolidated that victory with a dominant 77–45 win over Nigeria Customs on Saturday.

With everything on the line, the title and a spot on the continent, both sides are expected to leave nothing to chance. The Hoopers bring championship experience and the tactical guidance of seasoned coach Ogoh Odaudu, while the Legends rely on youthful energy and explosiveness.

Their last meeting in the NBBF Super Eight ended dramatically, with Lagos Legends edging the Hoopers 80–79 in a thrilling encounter that kept fans on their feet.

Sunday’s game offers the Legends a chance to clinch their first-ever national title and secure a maiden BAL berth, while Rivers Hoopers aim to extend their domestic dominance.

Speaking ahead of the showdown, Hoopers’ head coach Ogoh Odaudu said his team will approach the clash with full intensity.

“We are going to come all out against Lagos Legends and we will fight in each quarter. We won’t approach the game against the Legends the way we approached the game against Customs,” Odaudu said after the win against Customs.
