Nasarawa United returned to the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over visiting Shooting Stars in Lafia on Monday.
Following a goalless first half, the Solid Miners broke the deadlock in the 65th minute through substitute Moyi Hassan, whose strike proved decisive and secured all three points for the hosts.
The win takes Nasarawa United to 30 points from 16 matches, two points ahead of Ikorodu City and three clear of Rivers United, who still have two games in hand due to their CAF Champions League commitments.
Meanwhile, at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl of the Kwara State Stadium, Bendel Insurance edged Katsina United 1-0, a crucial result that lifts them into 16th place and out of the relegation zone.

Elmer Arunta netted the winner in the 71st minute, and despite sustained pressure from Katsina United in search of an equaliser, Insurance’s defence held firm to preserve the victory.
