D’Tigers forward Chima Moneke delivered a standout performance, scoring a team-high 17 points, including clutch free throws in the final seconds, to lead Baskonia to an impressive 83-70 victory over Zalgiris in a EuroLeague matchup at the Zalgirio Arena.
The win snapped Baskonia’s four-game losing streak in all competitions, which had stretched back to November 12, and marked their first EuroLeague victory since October 29, ending a five-game skid in the competition.
Moneke, who started alongside guards Trent Forrest and Markus Howard and center Donta Hall, left it all on the court to secure the much-needed victory. In addition to his 17 points (66% from two-point range, 46% from beyond the arc, and a perfect 100% from the free-throw line), the former Sacramento Kings player contributed five rebounds, two steals, and a block.
Trent Forrest and Donta Hall each added 14 points, while Kamar Baldwin and Nikolaos Rogkavopoulos chipped in 10 points each off the bench.
Despite a game-high 19 points from former San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonnie Walker, Zalgiris couldn’t prevent the loss.
