Terem Moffi’s spectacular overhead kick goal in OGC Nice’s 2-2 draw against FC Basel at St. Jakob-Park in the UEFA Europa Conference League has been voted as the competition’s Goal of The Week for games played on Thursday.
The Nigeria international perfectly connected with Gaëtan Laborde’s cross from the left wing with an overhead kick which left Basel’s keeper Marwin Hitz almost rooted to a spot. His amazing goal however, did not serve as the winner for Nice after Zeki Amdouni scored the equaliser in the 71st minute.
Moffi’s overhead kick screamer beatMajeed Ashimeru’s goal for Anderlecht against AZ Alkmaar to second place while Jonathan Ikone’s 63rd minute solo goal for Fiorentina in their 4-1 win over Lech Poznan was voted the third best for the week.
The Nigeria international was also voted the competition’s second best player for the week behind Basel’s Amdouni who scored a brace against Nice while KAA Gent’s Alessio Castro-Montes was voted their week’s third best player.
Moffi has scored three goals in three Conference league games since joining Nice during the January transfer window from Lorient.
