Winger Ademola Lookman put an end to his seven-game goals drought scoring in the 93rd minute of Atalanta’s 3-1 win over bottom-placed Cremonese away from home on Saturday in an Italian Serie A encounter.
The goal takes his tally of the season to 13 in 27 league games taking his overall tally to 15 goals in 29 appearances in all competitions while providing five assists. The goal will serve as a morale boost for the Nigerian who will be hoping to help Le Gea finish in the Champions League spot come the end of the campaign.
Marten De Roon and Jeremie Boga were the other scorers for Atalanta while Cremonese’s only goal of the encounter was scored by Daniel Ciofani from the spot. Lookman was on the pitch for 45 minutes having replaced Luis Muriel at half time.
His compatriot who was in action for 14 minutes after coming on for Marco Benassi in the 74th minute also fired blanks while David Okereke was not listed for the game.
The 25-year-old who has dropped to the bench due to his dip in form will be hoping to return to the starting lineup when they welcome Bologna to the Gewiss Stadium next Saturday.
