Lille make concrete offer for Gift Orban

Lille has emerged as the frontrunner in the pursuit of explosive Nigerian forward Gift Orban. They seek to acquire him as a replacement for Canadian striker Jonathan David, who is attracting interest from English Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United.

Sources indicate that Lille has contacted the club to inquire about the player’s availability. Leveraging their previous relationship with Gent, Lille hopes to secure the signing of the Nigerian talent.

Renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Lille is actively pursuing a deal for the 20-year-old Nigerian striker. “Lille has a genuine interest in acquiring Gift Orban as their new striker. While several clubs are keen on the Nigerian forward, Lille has recently initiated contact,” the Italian journalist tweeted.

“With potential significant offers for the Canadian striker Jonathan David expected soon, Gift Orban could serve as his replacement.”

Orban, who joined Gent from Norwegian club Stabæk for €3.3 million during the January transfer window, has enjoyed a remarkable campaign. He has scored 20 goals in 20 appearances for his team, including three hat-tricks.

Expressing his desire to move to a more competitive league, particularly the English Premier League, Orban has been vocal about his intentions. Although he favors a transfer to Manchester United, Manchester City, or Liverpool, he has explicitly mentioned a lack of interest in joining Arsenal.
