The Super Falcons will be aiming to secure another win when they take on Senegal in their second international friendly at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Monday.
The 10-time African champions claimed a 2-1 victory over the Teranga Lionesses in the first of their two friendly matches on Friday, June 5. Goals from Asisat Oshoala and Toni Payne handed the Super Falcons a comfortable lead before Sokhna Nogaye pulled one back late on for Senegal.
The friendly doubleheader forms part of Nigeria’s preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which will be staged in Morocco from July 25 to August 16.

Senegal have been drawn in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, Algeria and Kenya, while Nigeria will compete in Group C, where they will face Egypt, Zambia and tournament debutants Malawi.
This year’s WAFCON will serve as Africa’s qualifying tournament for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. The four semi-finalists will secure automatic qualification for the global showpiece.
Meanwhile, the teams eliminated in the quarter-finals will contest additional play-off matches to determine the two African representatives that will advance to the inter-confederation play-offs for a chance to reach the World Cup.
For Nigeria, the aim will be to defend the WAFCON title after they won it for a record-extending 10th time last year. The Super Falcons secured a 3-2 victory over hosts Morocco to clinch the trophy in Rabat.
