Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has assured fans he will be back to action soon after he suffered an ankle injury in Everton’s 3-1 loss to Manchester United in the FA Cup on Friday.
Iwobi was tackled by United’s Tyrell Malacia, catching the ankle of the Nigerian after earlier getting to the ball first, causing him to be stretchered off in the 51st minute of the game.
Everton Coach Frank Lampard who spoke after the game, said the former Arsenal star would have a scan on determining the extent of the injury he called an ankle ligament injury
“We hope it’s not too serious,” Lampard told EvertonTV. “It is an ankle ligament injury, we hope it’s a lesser one. He will have a scan tomorrow (Saturday) to confirm.”
Speaking on Twitter Saturday evening, the 26-year old appreciated the fans for their love, saying he would be back soon.
“Appreciate the love, back soon,” Iwobi wrote on Twitter.
