…Iheanacho has scored 16 goals in 12 league games
Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has revealed his ambition to help Bursaspor secure promotion to the Turkish Süper Lig while also establishing himself as a club legend.
The former Manchester City forward has enjoyed a sensational start to life in Turkey’s second division, the TFF First League, scoring 16 goals in his first 12 appearances for the club. Remarkably, the 30-year-old has found the net in every league game he has featured in, helping Bursaspor climb to the top of the table.
His impressive goalscoring form has also seen him break several records at the club, most notably becoming the first player in Turkish league football history to score in 12 consecutive league appearances.
Speaking in an interview, Iheanacho admitted that he did not anticipate such a remarkable start to his Turkish adventure but expressed delight at his performances so far. However, he stressed that his biggest priority remains helping Bursaspor return to the country’s top flight.
