Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka scored his first goal of the season, netting the opener in Coventry City’s thrilling 3–2 victory over eighth-placed Derby County at the CBS Arena on Good Friday.
Onyeka, currently on loan from Premier League side Brentford, broke the deadlock in the 12th minute with a well-taken strike from inside the box. Derby County responded in the 38th minute through Ben Brereton Díaz, ensuring both sides went into the break level at 1–1.
The hosts regained the lead in the 68th minute courtesy of Jack Rudoni, but Brereton Díaz struck again – this time from the penalty spot in the 77th minute – to restore parity. Coventry, however, had the final say, with Rudoni completing his brace just three minutes later to seal a hard-fought win.
The result sees Coventry move 11 points clear of second-placed Millwall with six games remaining, edging closer to clinching the EFL Championship title and securing automatic promotion to the Premier League.

For Onyeka, it marks a rewarding spell, with the midfielder’s presence adding steel and balance to Coventry’s engine room as they push towards a title-winning campaign.
He played the full 90 minutes, making it his ninth appearance in Coventry colours.
