Super Eagles coach, Finidi George, has resigned from his position one month after he was appointed to replace Jose Peseiro at the senior national team, Bold Sports can report.
Finidi confirmed his resignation in a chat with our correspondent.
“Yes, I have resigned as Eagles coach,” Finidi replied when asked if he left his position.
Finidi’s reign as coach of the Eagles is the shortest ever in the history of the coaching with the three time African champion in the last decade.
Meanwhile, there no official statement has been made by the Nigeria Football Federation to confirm George’s resignation or regarding the reasons behind this shocking decision.
The 53-year-old was appointed last month ahead of the World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and the Benin Republic.
Finidi, a former Nigerian international and member of the iconic 1994 Super Eagles squad that won the nation’s second African Cup of Nations title, took over as head coach last month.
