D’Tigress center, Oderah Chidom, has joined French Ligue Féminine de Basketball side Flammes Carolo ahead of the 2024/25 league season.
Oderah joins the Carolo after an impressive 2023/34 campaign with Italian side Ragusa, where she delivered an impressive performance, averaging 15.1 points per game and a 52.8% field goal percentage.
The French side opted to strengthen their squad ahead of the coming season which starts on August 19th with their season opener scheduled to be against Landes Women at the Caisse d’épargne Arena.
The 29-year-old is a well-known player in the French championship for having played at Angers (2021-2022) and Saint-Amand (2022-2023) before moving to Italy.

Carolo head coach Romuald Yernaux revealed that the Nigerian-American had been on the club’s radar for a month and they are excited to have her sign the dotted lines finally. The Frenchman also stated that Oderah fits the profile of players they’ve been looking for.
“We wanted a recruit who was tall, technically comfortable but above all someone who was versatile,” Yernaux told the club’s website. “We wanted a player with a certain intensity but also mobility and aggressiveness in our game. And so Oderah was a profile that we had targeted for several months. However, we had to wait for the prices to return to standards that are ours. There was an opportunity at the beginning of August and we were able to seize it.
“She is a player who knows the context of a week without a European Cup and who has performed in this scenario, both in France and in Italy. She is really a player who fits the model that we want to put in place. She has interesting experience.
“She is a player who goes into combat and who is capable of putting speed into her runs. We will find her in the intensity and in particular on the rebound phases. Oderah meets many of the criteria that we were looking for with the staff. She is taller than Tiffany Clarke and that seemed necessary to us because we needed a bit of size.”
Oderah, a 2021 FIBA Afrobasket winner with Nigerian has plied her trade in Slovenia, Greece, Belarus, Italy as well as France.
