David Okereke has completed a permanent move to Serie B side Benevento from Cremonese ahead of the 2026/27 league season, Bold Sports reports.
Benevento confirmed the transfer in a statement on their official website on Monday, announcing that the 28-year-old has signed a contract until June 30, 2028, with an option for an automatic extension until June 30, 2029.
Okereke joins the newly promoted side after spending four years with Cremonese, having arrived at the club in July 2022.
The forward enjoyed an impressive debut season, scoring nine goals and providing one assist before moving to Torino on loan during the second half of his second campaign.

He subsequently spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Turkish Super Lig side Gaziantep, where he rediscovered his goalscoring form. Okereke registered eight goals and three assists in 30 appearances during his time in Turkey.
He returned to Cremonese for the 2025/26 campaign before bringing his four-year association with the club to an end with his move to Benevento.
Okereke previously gained experience in both Italian and Belgian football, playing for Spezia, Cosenza, Venezia and Belgian giants Club Brugge before joining Cremonese.
The move to Benevento presents the Nigerian with a fresh opportunity to establish himself as a key figure for a club hoping to build on its recent progress.
Benevento secured promotion back to Serie B last season after spending three consecutive campaigns in Serie C and will now prepare for a return to Italy’s second tier.
The club will open their 2026/27 Serie B campaign at home against Modena on Saturday, August 22.
Before that, Benevento will face Serie A side Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia on Friday, with Okereke expected to make his debut for the club in the cup encounter.
