Daniel Oturu put in a monstrous performance off the bench to power Anadolu Efes to an 83-67 win over Darussafaka in the Turkish Basketbol Super Ligi on Sunday.

The D’Tigers-eligible center led the way for Anadolu off the bench scoring a game-high 17 points, five assists, and four rebounds in the victory, their 14th of the season in the league.

Ercan Osmani and Elijah Bryant were the only other Anadolu players who recorded points in double figures scoring 13 and 10 points respectively while Oturu’s compatriot Jordan Nwora added seven points and three rebounds.

Reacting to the win, head coach Luca Banchi says he is proud of the team’s overall performance. He also says he is looking forward to their Turkish Cup quarterfinal clash against Besiktas whom they have already lost to this season.

“We played a very good match. We put in a lot of effort. Our energy was a little low. Although we made some mistakes in attack, we were very good in defense.

“We will have a tough match against Beşiktaş Fibabanka in the Turkish Cup. We want to stay in the top four. We lost to them in the league, this time we want to be the winners.”

Oturu has been one of Anadolu’s best players this season. He is currently averaging 14.4 points, 6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game in the league.
