La Liga champions Barcelona have reportedly added Victor Osimhen to their shortlist of potential striker targets for next summer, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.

The Nigerian striker, who only completed a permanent move to Galatasaray during the summer transfer window, has continued his impressive form in Turkey. After months of negotiations, the Turkish champions secured a blockbuster deal for the former Napoli star, and Osimhen has wasted no time justifying their investment.

So far this season, the 26-year-old has netted six goals in nine appearances, including three in the UEFA Champions League, helping Galatasaray win two of their opening three league phase games.

Osimhen has also been in fine form for the Super Eagles, recently scoring a hat-trick against Benin Republic in the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier, keeping Nigeria’s qualification hopes alive.

His performances have reignited interest across Europe, with Barcelona now the latest club linked to the prolific striker. Reports suggest that head coach Hansi Flick is seeking a long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski, who has endured a dip in form this season.

The Polish veteran, now 37, has scored four goals in nine matches and has struggled with injury issues.

In Lewandowski’s absence, Flick has experimented with false nines such as Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres, but inconsistency in front of goal has been a recurring issue. Barcelona have lost three of their last five matches in all competitions and currently trail Real Madrid by five points in the La Liga standings.

While Osimhen’s recent arrival at Galatasaray makes any immediate transfer complicated, his proven scoring pedigree and physical presence make him an attractive option for Barcelona’s future plans. However, the Catalan club’s financial constraints could pose a major obstacle to completing any potential deal.

For now, Osimhen remains focused on his campaign with Galatasaray as he looks to fire the Istanbul giants to another Super Lig title and a deep run in the Champions League.
