Former England, Bayern Munich and Manchester United midfielder, Owen Hargreaves, has stated that Everton midfielder, Alex Iwobi, would be undroppable if he adds goal scoring to his current form at the club.
Iwobi crowned his excellent display for the Toffees in recent weeks by scoring his first goal of the season in Everton’s 2-1 loss to Manchester United in a Premier League encounter on Sunday at the Goodison Park.
The Nigeria international curled his effort past United goalkeeper David De Gea from outside the box in the 5th minute of the game.
Antony and Cristiano Ronaldo’s goals in the 15th and 44th minutes ensured that the Red Devils cart home the maximum points but Iwobi’s performance in the encounter has led to Hargreaves boldly stating that the midfielder would most certainly become undroppable if he adds goal scoring to his game.
“I think he was amazing in the game. His instincts were really sharp and the goal was amazing, beating De Gea from such a distance. I think he’s become an amazing player under Frank Lampard and I believe he’ll be undroppable if he adds goal scoring to his game. He’s been one of Everton’s best players this season,” Hargreaves said after the game.
Iwobi has played every minute of Everton’s campaign. He has also provided three assists in nine games for the club.
