Terem Moffi scored a brace to hand high-flying Lorient a 2-1 comeback win away at Brest in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday, also becoming the joint top scorer in the league alongside Neymar and Kylian Mbappe with eight goals.
Romain Del Castillo put Brest in front in the 17th minute while Moffi scored the equaliser in the 24th minute before netting the winner in the 53rd minute to take his goals tally of the season to eight in 10 league games.
The brace was his third of the season having previously scored two goals each in the games against Clermont Foot and Lens in August. He has also equalled the number of league goals he scored in the 2021/22 season but with 27 games less.
Moffi made way for Sirine Ckene Doucoure in the 87th minute while his compatriot Innocent Bonke replaced Julien Ponceau in the 87th minute.
The striker had a 2021/22 season to forget as he struggled for form and consistency also unable to replicate his 2020/21 season that saw him become one of the most sought after strikers in France. This current season has been different as his goals have also dictated the club’s position on the table. Lorient are currently on 25 points, one point behind Paris Saint-Germain who top the table.
Moffi’s performance this season has seen his transfer value increase from €9m to €12m according to Transfermarkt’s latest transfer valuation update of September 19.
