Nigerian striker Akor Adams has dismissed reports linking him with a move to Italian Serie A side Venezia, insisting he is focused on resting after the season and preparing for the next campaign with Sevilla.

The Super Eagles forward was reacting after Italian transfer expert William Lasalandra reported that Venezia had reached an agreement on personal terms with the 25-year-old and were preparing fresh talks with Sevilla to complete the transfer.

According to the report, the parties have aligned on contractual terms, with negotiations between the two clubs expected to continue in the coming days.

However, Adams told Footy-Africa that he is paying little attention to the growing speculation.

“It is normal that during this period there will be rumours of transfer moves for a lot of players, and not just myself. I am happy that my work is being recognised, but there is nothing to it,” Adams said.

“I have not spoken to my agent, and I do not take such things seriously because right now it is time to relax and recharge for next season.”

The former Montpellier striker also reiterated his commitment to Sevilla, stressing that his priority is helping the club improve after falling short of their objectives last season.

“We did not meet our goals last season, so the focus right now is to see how we can challenge for European places next season. That is the goal, and I am not aware of, neither am I thinking about, all those transfer rumours.”

Adams enjoyed an impressive first full campaign with Sevilla, finishing the 2025-26 season with 33 appearances, 10 goals and four assists across all competitions. He scored nine La Liga goals, finishing as the club’s leading scorer after joining the Spanish side permanently in January 2025 and establishing himself as one of their key attacking players.

The striker also continued his rise on the international stage with Nigeria. Since making his senior debut in late 2025, Adams has registered 15 appearances and six goals for the Super Eagles, scoring in FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and international friendlies.

Despite growing interest from Venezia, Adams’ comments suggest his immediate focus remains on recovering from the season and helping Sevilla push for European qualification next term rather than entertaining transfer speculation.
