Crawley Town defender, Tanimu Benjamin, has been called up to the Super Eagles as a replacement for Bright Osayi-Samuel ahead of the team’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda.
The young defender, who has been a regular fixture in the Super Eagles squad, will join the team for their upcoming matches on September 7th and 10th. While no official reason was given for Osayi-Samuel’s withdrawal, Benjamin is expected to fill the void in the right-back position.
Benjamin, who recently joined Crawley Town from Tanzania’s Ihefu FC, has impressed in his previous appearances for the Super Eagles. He has started in the team’s last two World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin, showcasing his versatility and defensive abilities.
