Edo Queens Coach, Moses Aduku has revealed that his contract with the club has expired following their impressive performance at the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Moses Aduku’s reign as Edo Queens Coach has been nothing short of historic. Appointed in 2022, the experienced tactician led Edo Queens to win their first ever NWFL title.
His attacking philosophy was also important as they dominated the WAFU B Champions League Qualifiers which gave them automatic qualification to the CAF Women’s Champions League.
He also led the team to their debut CAF Women’s Champions League campaign where they crashed out at the semifinals to TP Mazembe before losing the third place match to FC Masar on penalty shootouts.
Due to his exploits, he was recently nominated for the CAF Women’s Best Coach of the year award alongside Chris Danjuma and Bankole Olowookere.
In an interview with https://www.brila.net/, Aduku clarified that although he had spoken with the club’s chairman during the tournament in Morocco, the recent change in government affected the direction of their conversation.
He maintained that if he is called back to the negotiation table, he is ready to continue with Edo Queens. However, if nothing is agreed, he already has a next step in mind.
Edo Queens will be received by the State Government next week for their financial rewards after finishing Fourth in the CAF Women’s Champions League. It also serves as a perfect opportunity to resume negotiations with Moses Aduku.
