Yusuf Bamidele scored 4 goals as Vojvodina trashed Novi Pazar 4-0 at Stadion Gradzi in a Serbian Super Liga match played on Friday, November 29.
Prior to the fixture, the Nigerian forward had been struggling to score goals as he had gone 3 games without scoring. His form affected the Serbian club as they also went 3 games without a goal and a win. However, Nenad Lalatović retained his trust in the 23-year-old as he led the front line flanked by Caleb Zady Sery in the left wing and Dragan Kokanovic in the right wing.
Yusuf Bamidele repaid the trust of the coach with an amazing goal in the 19th minute to give Vojvodina the lead. He continued to shine in the second half as he received a brilliant pass from Caleb Zady Sery, danced his way through the defense and slot the ball beyond the reach of Ajia Yakub to make the score 2-0.
He scored his hatrick in the 75th minute as he utilised his strength to hold off the defender, and his composure to place the ball into the net for 3-0. 3 minutes after the goal, he scored again to the frustration of the home team and the elation of the away squad.
“Very good win for us, we planned to win today and we won. I scored 4 goals, we are very happy, and I hope to see you in the stadium.” he said in a joyous mood after the win.
With the win, Vojvodina are now up to 7th in the Serbian Super Liga with 24 points in 17 games. They will hope to repeat this victory as they host Graficar in the Round of 16 of the Serbian Cup.
