Ogazi, Nathaniel qualify for 400m, 400mH NCAA Finals

Nigerian athletes Samuel Ogazi and Ezekiel Nathaniel have qualified for the finals in the 400m and 400m hurdles events respectively at the upcoming NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

In the 400m semifinals, Ogazi won his heat with a time of 45.14 seconds, finishing ahead of JeVaughn Powell who clocked 45.17 seconds. This was Ogazi’s third-fastest 400m time.

Nathaniel, the Nigerian record holder in the 400m hurdles, secured his spot in the final by winning the first semifinal heat in 48.93 seconds. Sean Burrell finished second in that heat with a time of 49.03 seconds.

This will be Nathaniel’s second consecutive appearance in the 400m hurdles final at the NCAA Championships. Last year, he claimed the bronze medal in the event.
