Galatasaray have received a positive update on Victor Osimhen ahead of Friday’s Süper Lig meeting with Kasımpaşa, Bold Sports reports.
The Nigerian striker has enjoyed a superb start to the 2026/27 campaign. Osimhen has scored six goals and supplied two assists in four league appearances. He also scored in Galatasaray’s 3-2 win over İstanbul Başakşehir before suffering the injury.
Osimhen continues his recovery
Osimhen picked up the injury during that victory at the Başakşehir Fatih Terim Stadium. The problem forced him to miss Galatasaray’s next four matches.
Those games came against Sporting CP, Kocaelispor, Trabzonspor and Pendikspor. He also missed Nigeria’s matches against Madagascar, Guinea-Bissau and Russia during the international break.
Galatasaray team doctor Yener İnce has now provided an update on the striker.
The club plans to conduct further medical tests on Osimhen. His availability for the Kasımpaşa fixture will depend on the results.
“We will conduct tests on all three players, on Osimhen, on Singo, and on Sallai as well. We will make a decision based on the test results,” Ince said to Winner Galatasaray.
Galatasaray encouraged by treatment
İnce also revealed that Osimhen has responded well to treatment.

The Galatasaray medical team has seen clear progress. The club doctor said all three injured players are now in better condition.
“But the treatment of all three is going very well. In other words, all three are in a much better condition now compared to 1 week – 10 days ago. In other words, thank goodness, there is nothing going wrong with the treatments,” he concluded.
The update offers encouragement ahead of Friday’s league fixture. However, Galatasaray must still wait for the medical results before making a final decision.
Osimhen’s return would give Okan Buruk another major attacking option. His six goals already make him one of Galatasaray’s key contributors this season.
The Super Eagles forward has also resumed training as he works towards a return to competitive action.
Galatasaray will therefore monitor his condition closely before the Kasımpaşa clash.
