Friday Etim has been named the 3F Superliga Player of the Month for September 2026. The FC Midtjylland striker claimed the individual prize after a strong month in Denmark’s top flight, Bold Sports reports.

The Nigerian forward scored three league goals and added one assist in September. He also scored in FC Midtjylland’s 7-0 Betano Cup win over Sundby BK on September 10.

Etim dominates September statistics

Etim’s numbers underline the impact behind his award. He played 334 minutes in the Superliga during the month.

The striker averaged a goal or assist every 83 minutes. He also recorded nine shots on target. That figure ranked highest among players in the league.

Etim also won 25 ground duels. No other player recorded more during the period. He further led the league with 96 sprints.

His September run included a goal in FC Midtjylland’s 2-2 draw with FC Nordsjælland.

The Nigerian then helped Midtjylland secure a 1-1 draw against OB on September 19. The result extended the club’s unbeaten run at that stage.

Nigerian striker beats FC Copenhagen duo

Etim faced competition from FC Copenhagen duo Diant Ramaj and Asger Sørensen for the monthly award.

He ultimately secured his first individual honour in Denmark’s top division. The recognition adds another highlight to his first months with FC Midtjylland.

His award also adds to the growing presence of Nigerian players at Midtjylland. The club recently signed Nigerian youngster Ikenna Prosper Ude-Chukwu for its U19 academy.

Etim reacts to his first major award

Etim welcomed the recognition but quickly shifted his attention to the team’s next targets.

“I’m happy with the award. It’s been a good September for me. Of course, you’re happy to score three goals as a striker because that’s the way I can help the team, among other things.”

He also stressed the need to maintain his current level.

“Now it’s about continuing, because there is still a lot of work for us to do. I hope and believe that this is just the beginning.”

Etim’s latest achievement gives him another milestone to build on. His September performances have already placed him among the standout players in the Danish Superliga.
