Femi Azeez has moved closer to his Brighton & Hove Albion debut after coach Fabian Hurzeler confirmed the Nigerian winger’s return to full training, Bold Sports reports.
The 2025/26 campaign helped Azeez earn his move to Brighton from Championship side Millwall. He joined the Seagulls on transfer deadline day. A minor hamstring problem then delayed his first appearance for the Premier League club.
Hurzeler gave the update on Thursday. Brighton travel to Coventry City this weekend. The coach expects Azeez to train with the squad ahead of the fixture.
The Brighton boss also left the door open for the winger to make the matchday squad. Azeez must first complete the session without any setbacks.
”Also regarding him, I hope he will be an option. He will definitely train today with the squad and hopefully everything is fine and then he hopefully is an option for the weekend,” Hurzeler told reporters.
Azeez now has a chance to push for his first competitive appearance. His return also gives Brighton another attacking option.

The update could also interest Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle. Nigeria have important fixtures coming up in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
The Super Eagles will face Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau in their next qualifiers. Nigeria will also play Russia in an international friendly later this month.
Azeez’s return to training therefore comes at an important time. A strong start with Brighton could strengthen his case for international involvement.
The winger’s move to Brighton followed his impressive season at Millwall. He now has the chance to begin a new chapter in the Premier League.
For Brighton, his availability could add depth to the attack. For Chelle, it provides another Nigerian option to monitor before the next Super Eagles squad announcement.
