Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly received a 5,000 TL fine in Turkey. The Galatasaray forward allegedly drove through a red light after leaving the club’s training ground.

‎The incident happened ahead of Galatasaray’s second Turkish Super Lig game against Erzurumspor.

‎Osimhen enters the fixture in strong scoring form. He scored twice in Galatasaray’s 2-2 draw with newly promoted Çorum FK. His stoppage-time goal rescued a point for the reigning Turkish champions.

‎The incident happened after Galatasaray completed preparations for their next league match.

‎According to Turkish outlet Haberler, Osimhen left the training facility in his private car. He then approached a traffic intersection.

‎Footage reportedly showed the Nigerian striker driving through a red light. The report said he did not stop at the signal.

‎The alleged offence occurred away from the training ground. However, it quickly attracted attention in Turkish media.

‎Osimhen then received a 5,000 TL traffic fine, worth approximately ₦141,000 at the prevailing exchange rate.

‎The incident does not appear to have affected his involvement with Galatasaray. The club included Osimhen in its squad for the trip to face Erzurumspor. Galatasaray announced its travelling squad on August 20, with Osimhen among the players involved.

‎Osimhen has already made an impact in the new Turkish Super Lig season.

‎The 27-year-old produced both Galatasaray goals against Çorum FK. His second strike came in the 90th minute and secured a 2-2 draw.

‎That result gave Galatasaray one point from their opening fixture. The champions will now look for their first league victory of the campaign.

‎Osimhen’s goals will remain central to that challenge. He scored 15 league goals last season and added five assists. He also scored seven times in the Champions League.

‎The Nigerian forward will therefore head into the Erzurumspor match with confidence. His latest brace has already placed him among the early talking points of Galatasaray’s campaign.

‎Galatasaray face Erzurumspor in their second league match. The reigning champions need a stronger result after dropping points at home against Çorum FK.

‎Osimhen will be expected to lead the attack once again. His recent scoring display makes him one of the main players to watch.

‎The traffic incident has created an unwanted distraction. Still, the focus on the pitch remains clear.

‎Galatasaray want their first win. Osimhen wants to continue scoring.

‎For the Super Eagles striker, the next opportunity comes against Erzurumspor.
