Tolu Arokodare will be hoping to make an immediate impact when Ajax face PEC Zwolle in their opening Eredivisie fixture of the 2026/27 season on Sunday, with the Nigerian striker in line for his competitive debut.
The 25-year-old recently completed a loan move to the Dutch giants from Championship side Wolves, and has already given Ajax supporters a glimpse of what he can offer.
Arokodare made his unofficial debut for the club in a pre-season friendly against Volendam, coming off the bench and finding the back of the net just 17 minutes after his introduction to seal a dominant 3-1 victory.
He will now be looking to carry that form into competitive action when Ajax travel to the Mac3Park Stadion, with the Amsterdam side targeting a winning start to their league campaign.

The forward scored six goals and provided two assists in 38 appearances for the club last season, a significant drop from the 23 goals and five assists he registered in 45 games for Genk during the previous campaign.
With a new journey set to begin, Arokodare will be eager to reproduce the goalscoring form that established him as one of Nigeria’s top forwards, and Ajax could provide the platform for him to do so.
The Dutch giants have strengthened considerably during the summer transfer window as they look to reclaim the Eredivisie title after missing out for four consecutive seasons.
Alongside Arokodare, Ajax have added several high-profile names to their squad, including goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen, German midfielder Julian Brandt, Brazilian forward Marcos Leonardo and experienced defender Daley Blind, who has returned to the club for a third spell.
With new head coach Michel now at the helm, Ajax will be aiming to challenge for domestic honours while also making their mark in Europe.
For Arokodare, however, the immediate focus will be on making his first competitive appearance count as he begins a new chapter in Amsterdam.
