Gift Orban was involved in a heated incident with a fan after Hella Verona’s 1-0 loss to AC Milan at the Bentegodi Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Nigerian forward played the full match as Verona suffered their fifth straight defeat in the Serie A, while AC Milan went up to second place with the win, which came courtesy of Adrien Rabiot’s goal.
After the game, an ugly post-match incident occurred outside the stadium. According to witnesses at the scene, via the Corriere dello Sport, Gift Orban was frustrated after the final whistle and initially declined to stop for a photograph with a supporter.
The situation escalated when another fan reportedly hit Gift Orban’s car, prompting the player to come outside of his vehicle. A heated confrontation ensued, and it eventually developed into a full-blown brawl that was captured on mobile phones by bystanders.
The footage is now being reviewed by authorities, with the Digos, Italy’s specialist police unit responsible for public order at sporting events, checking the scene to carry out their investigations.
Further details are expected to emerge in the coming days as authorities review the recorded footage.

Gift Orban has had a productive loan spell since joining Hellas Verona from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim. This season, the 23-year-old has recorded seven goals and two assists in 28 appearances.
