The Super Falcons have been dealt an early blow ahead of their 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifying fixture against Benin Republic, with Jennifer Echegini ruled out due to a hamstring injury, Bold Sports reports.

Echegini, who was named in coach Justin Madugu’s 21-player squad for the doubleheader, sustained the injury while playing for Paris Saint-Germain in their league game against Strasbourg on Sunday and is now expected to remain with the club.

Meanwhile, the Super Falcons’ camp in Lome, Togo, has continued to swell, with 13 players now in camp at Hotel Sarakawa as preparations intensify for the crucial qualifier.
