Italian Serie A side Hellas Verona are closing in on a loan deal for Nigerian striker Gift Orban from Bundesliga club Hoffenheim, Bold Sports reports.

According to Sky Sports Italia, Verona are keen to reinforce their attack before the transfer window closes, and the 22-year-old has emerged as a prime target for the forward role.

Orban scored six goals in 18 appearances for Hoffenheim during the second half of the 2024/25 season, following his permanent move from Olympique Lyon.

In addition to Orban, Verona are also targeting Boca Juniors attacking midfielder Vicente Taborda and Southampton defender Armel Bella-Kotchap to bolster their squad.

Pablo Zanetti’s side started the 2025/26 Serie A campaign positively, earning an away draw against Udinese thanks to Suat Serdar’s 73rd-minute equalizer.

Earlier reports suggested Orban was on the verge of returning to Ligue 1 on loan to Toulouse, but Verona now appear to be leading the race for his signature.
