2025 Milo Basketball Finals: Abuja, Bayelsa boys clash as Karu girls eye Osun upset

Bishop Dimieri Grammar School, Ovum, Bayelsa State, will face Government Secondary School, Gwarinpa, Life Camp, Abuja in the boys’ final of the 2025 Milo Schools Basketball Championship on Thursday (today) at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

In the girls’ final, giant-killers Government Girls Secondary School, Karu, Abuja, will lock horns with Lanreleke Sports Academy, Ilenikhena-Ogbo, Osun State, to determine who will be crowned 2025 champions.

To reach the final, the boys from Bayelsa edged out Government Secondary School, Numan, Adamawa State, with a narrow 57-55 win, while the boys from Abuja defeated Father O’Connell Science College, Minna, Niger State, 59-48.

On the girls’ side, Karu pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the tournament, defeating defending champions St. Jude’s Girls Secondary School, Amarata, Bayelsa State, 57-55 in overtime. The standout performer was Victoria Dike, who recorded a game-high double-double of 20 points and 25 rebounds to lead her team to victory.

Speaking to Bold Sports after the semifinal, Dike declared that their fairytale run isn’t over yet, stating, “We’re not done until we win the title.”

Lanreleke Sports Academy booked their spot in the final with an impressive 73-62 win over Government Secondary School, Yola, Adamawa State.
