D’Tigers forward Chima Moneke has signed a two-year deal with Serbian basketball powerhouse KK Crvena Zvezda, ending his two-season stint with Spanish side Saski Baskonia.
According to Italian journalist and European basketball insider Andrea Calzoni, the Nigerian international is expected to earn €1.6 million per year, with a €500,000 buyout clause available in the summer of the 2026/2027 season.
The Serbian giants confirmed the signing of the American-born Nigerian, praising him as a player who brings not only experience from his previous clubs but also high energy on both ends of the floor.

“Red Star Meridianbet informs the public and all Red Star fans that our club has a new member, Chima Moneke,” the club announced.
“He is a Nigerian national team player and a former member of the French clubs Roanne and Orléans. The season that brought him into the spotlight was with Manresa in Spain in 2022, when the team reached the FIBA Champions League finals, and Moneke was named MVP of the competition.
“He later played for the Sacramento Kings and Monaco, with whom he won both the French Championship and French Cup.
“Last season, Moneke played for Baskonia, where he averaged over 13 points and 6 rebounds per game, emerging as one of the team’s key players.
“Standing 2 meters tall and weighing 101 kilograms, he is known for his relentless energy, fighting spirit, and excellent positioning in the paint, which allows him to consistently rack up rebounds.”
