Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly preparing to open discussions with Victor Boniface about extending his contract, which is currently set to run until 2028.
According to BILD, the club aim to secure an additional year for the striker’s services amid reported interests from other clubs.
Boniface led Leverkusen to the Bundesliga title last season, playing the entire domestic season unbeaten, with their only loss in the Europa League final to Atalanta.
Despite recent links to Manchester United, Boniface is not considering a move. The striker has made it clear that he feels “totally comfortable” at Leverkusen, partly due to his strong relationship with head coach Xabi Alonso.

“Boni is a great guy,” Alonso said. “He’s very well integrated into the team and always brings positive energy.”
Boniface, who has netted six goals and provided one assist in the Bundesliga this season, is sidelined with a thigh injury. However, now seems like the right time for Leverkusen to push forward with contract talks.
