Lesotho national football team head coach Leslie Notsi has unveiled a 23-man squad for their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria and Zimbabwe, scheduled to take place at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, South Africa.
Notsi announced the squad on Tuesday, expressing hope that his side can secure maximum points from the double-header. The fixtures are slated for October 10 and October 13, respectively.
The squad features three goalkeepers, nine defenders, eight midfielders, and three forwards, with 19 home-based players included. Two players feature in the South African league, one plays in Namibia, while another is based in Botswana.

Lesotho will head into the clash against the Super Eagles with renewed confidence after FIFA awarded them three points and three goals. The ruling came after South Africa fielded Teboho Mokoena, who was ineligible due to an accumulation of two yellow cards in earlier qualifiers.
Nigeria, meanwhile, will be under pressure, having been held to a 1-1 draw by Lesotho in the first leg of the qualifiers, a result that could prove costly in their bid to reach the World Cup, which will be hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The Likuena squad is expected to arrive in Polokwane on Monday to step up preparations for the crucial back-to-back fixtures.
Lesotho currently sits fifth in the group with nine points, behind Benin Republic (14), South Africa (14), Nigeria (11), and Rwanda (11), while Zimbabwe trails with four points.
