The Super Eagles have officially opened camp in Rabat, Morocco, with six players and officials already on ground ahead of Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff clash against Gabon, Bold Sports reports.

The early arrivals at the team’s hotel include Fulham trio Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, and Samuel Chukwueze, alongside Besiktas midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Tolu Arokodare, and Olakunle Olusegun, who plays for Russian side Nizhny Novgorod.

More players are expected to join the squad in the coming hours as preparations intensify for Thursday’s encounter.

Nigeria will battle the Panthers of Gabon at the Stade Prince Moulay El Hassan in Rabat, knowing that only a victory will secure their passage to the final stage of the CAF World Cup playoffs.

If the Super Eagles overcome the Panthers, they will advance to face the winner of the Cameroon versus DR Congo encounter, scheduled to take place later on Thursday at the Stade El Barid.

The Super Eagles will be looking to build on their fine form from the previous international break, where they edged Lesotho 2-1 and cruised past Benin Republic 4-0 to clinch a playoff spot.
