West Ham United are reportedly among several clubs keeping a close eye on Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman as they prepare their January transfer targets.
The Premier League side sees Lookman as a potential boost to their attacking lineup, according to sources from TEAMtalk.
With January transfer strategies taking shape, Lookman’s standout performances in Serie A have caught the attention of multiple clubs, including some who are keen to bring the Nigerian international back to the Premier League.
Atalanta, however, has set a high price tag, with the club likely to demand over £60 million for the 27-year-old winger, who is under contract until 2026 with an option to extend for another year.
West Ham have had their sights on Lookman since the 2024 summer transfer window and continue to express interest, though they face competition from three other Premier League teams.
While a transfer in the January window remains uncertain, Atalanta’s strong start in Serie A and Champions League commitments make them reluctant to part with their key players mid-season.
Sources suggest that while West Ham might pursue Lookman in the upcoming window, the club may also consider alternative options should Atalanta prove unwilling to negotiate.
Lookman caught the eye last season when he scored a hat-trick to help Atalanta win Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in the Europa League final. He is also finished 14th in this year Ballon d’Or after being the only African nominated. He is also in the running for the African Player of the year award.
He has also started on a good note this season, scoring six goals already in this Serie A season.
